Inside Kogi, the rounded serif Almarena built for bold, hungry brands

Almarena Creative, the Lyon-based studio behind the project, designed Kogi™ as a rounded serif built to balance generosity, impact, and readability. The typography runs on two variable axes — Weight and Slant — and ships in a static version with nine weights plus italics, giving designers a wide range of expression from a single family.

The type design includes multiple alternates and ligatures, supports 90 languages, and packs in more than 600 glyphs per weight. Almarena built it for bold logos, eye-catching posters, magazine covers, and any visual identity that wants to feel unique and impactful — the kind of food-and-hospitality branding work the studio is known for.
