Elephant builds California Calling entirely from words, repeating “California Calling” in bold serif type across a lattice of intersecting black-and-white ribbons. The alternating solid and outlined letterforms create a restless, almost woven texture that fills the screen edge to edge. There is real confidence in letting typography carry the entire composition without a single photograph. The strict monochrome palette keeps the effect graphic and timeless. It is a striking exercise in typography and expressive type design.
