Bold, characterful and unapologetically typographic, this site for the Denver restaurant Isabel was crafted by Liz Henderson & Wunder Werkz. A single warm terracotta field frames a custom blackletter wordmark that reshapes "Isabel" into something between heraldry and modern display type, bracketed by the motto "Not by knaverie, but by braverie". The restrained palette and centred, symmetrical layout give the whole thing the poise of a crest or an old menu cover, with a slim VISIT / ABOUT / MENU / CONTACT navigation kept out of the way. It's a lovely example of how typography alone can set a mood and carry a brand.
