Mike John Otto, creative director, brand consultant, designer and artist, presents himself through a portfolio with a quietly dramatic presence. A mid-grey background holds a large, crumpled wireframe mesh in dark charcoal, a delicate 3D form that looks like fabric floating in space. At the bottom, a bold golden serif headline in capitals states his roles, while the top of the page carries a spaced-out wordmark with playful slashes and small golden navigation and contact links. The combination of warm gold type, soft grey and that intricate mesh gives the site a sophisticated, gallery-like feel. It is an elegant example of art direction in web design, and mikejohnotto.com is well worth a visit.
