Number 04

Number 04, the independent US design office founded by Chris Mann, gives its portfolio a wonderfully experimental, hands-on personality. Oversized bold headings — ‘SELECT’, ‘CATEGORIES’, ‘ARCHIVE’ — anchor a loose editorial grid of project thumbnails, from a neon ‘Mall’ sign to a Druk specimen poster, while a floating green image tile and a blackletter ‘Internet Explorers Design Club’ marquee add mischief. Best of all is an interactive DRAW / ERASE / SAVE / SUBMIT toolbar that invites visitors to scribble right on the page. The result is playful, type-led interactive design with real character and confident typography. Explore it all at Number 04.
