Mees Verberne & Ronald de Groot created this striking portfolio for creative front-end developer and designer Mees Verberne. The whole page is bathed in a deep, grainy crimson, with an oversized classic serif introduction in darker red and the name itself highlighted in a brighter tone. Italic links, fine diagonal lines and a small circular bird emblem add a refined, almost editorial layer. At the bottom, a shadowy rose blooms behind a large outlined monogram, giving the site a romantic, cinematic mood. Bold and emotional, it is a beautiful example of expressive typography in personal web design.
