Happy Face Experiment

CTHDRL turns a music release into an immersive online show with Happy Face, an interactive experience for Jagwar Twin. The landing frame layers a vintage mushroom-cloud detonation with an acid-yellow wireframe smiley, splicing apocalypse and pop optimism into one unsettling image. Terse instructions — “Turn your speakers up”, “Put on a happy face” — and a single “Start the show” cue invite visitors into a full audiovisual ride. The retro-futurist art direction and glowing WebGL globe give it a knowing, cinematic edge. It is a bold slice of interactive design that makes a song feel like an event.
