SDCO/u00a0was tasked with naming, designing, and crafting the story for the last-of-its-kind Kiawah Island community: The Cape.
The Cape/u2019s name nods to the community/u2019s geographical definition /u2014 and the love and nostalgia the world has for renowned /u201ccapes/u201d like Cape Cod. The brand design reflects the soulful, irresistible energy of life along the water, the relationship between people and place, and the development team/u2019s commitment to sustainability and stewardship. Hand-drawn illustrations are playful accents in the brand/u2019s visual language. Documentary-style photography brings The Cape lifestyle to life on digital platforms and print materials. The identity system comes vibrantly to life in an array of digital, print, and environmental mediums across the property. From business cards, postcards, note cards, sales brochures, and embossed envelopes to signage, wayfinding, merchandise, and a robust website that delves into The Cape/u2019s amenities, residences, and maps. Response to The Cape has been overwhelming /u2014 with 38 of 40 residences sold on opening day.
