G/u00eanese is a project that forms part of designer/u00a0Pedro Veneziano's three-part Bachelor's graduation thesis entitled 'Mutuo'. The project is based upon the invention of a Brazilian DJ duo through different materials, in which Veneziano aims to simulate the artists' evolution while transmitting their/u00a0personalities and passion for music through graphic design only /u2014 without the use of sound.

'I/u00a0chose to/u00a0come up with an EP since it's shorter than an actual album. I also used their start as my main concept for this section of the project, which is why I have/u00a0a rock as the centrepiece on the graphic compositions. The series of/u00a0reinterpretations based on this one initial shape and the way/u00a0they/u00a0are used and/u00a0combined translate visually what Mutuo's/u00a0main intention as musicians would be: to add new sounds, layers, colors/u00a0/u2014 experimentations on electronic music.

I made/u00a0the illustrations always keeping in mind how I would blend them into one final result. My main goal for this section was to come up with a material/u00a0that intersects both 2D and 3D into one graphic, strong/u00a0language. This language should also be translated into an animation and unfolded into a family of covers for the singles from the EP, each related to one of the primary illustrations. Lastly, I also chose to create a visual identity that would accompany the graphic pieces from this moment/u00a0on:/u00a0In order to do that I developed a whole typeface called Som Sans, with OpenType resources that allowed me to create an expandable typographic/u00a0identity that translates music into letters.'
