‘Oasis – Graphic Album Covers’ is a personal project by Matteus de Faria Vilas Boas from Sao Paul, who took inspiration from one of his favourite bands, Oasis. Seven modern covers were designed in total, each of which reflects an image present in the original cover.
De Faria Vilas Boas first created a colour palette based on the original imagery and photographs, and then picked out an element from the scenes that could be depicted in a simple and direct way – such as a window, which he portrayed as an octagonal shape.
The typography on the cover makes use of the clean Helvetica font, allowing simplicity to balance well with the cover’s geometric shapes.
