Pop-Eye Studio gives Libri Belli the loving, magazine-like treatment its subject deserves, a project celebrating the beautiful covers of twentieth-century Italian books. A vivid purple border frames a refined editorial layout, where elegant serif text and numbered sections sit beside photographs of gloriously graphic vintage jackets in reds, yellows and greens. Portraits of curator Livia Satriano and a wall of press logos add warmth and credibility, while generous margins let each artefact shine. It is scholarly yet joyful, a design that treats humble paperbacks as the collectible objects they are. A charming study in editorial and graphic design.
