Today, we're taking you to beautiful Australia to present this project./u00a0Kata Kita, meaning /u201cWe Say/u201d is a new Indonesian fusion eatery in the heart of Melbourne. The restaurant brings a modern take on traditional dishes with a side of play. The owners asked/u00a0Studio Sly/u00a0to create their visual identity.
One of the goals was to help people better understand Indonesian culture and cuisine. Aside from visual devices like the studio's twist on a traditional Javanese Batik pattern featured on the cups, the creative team deployed language, playful phrases used throughout the brand to engage diners with interactive wordplay. Another key to nailing such a stunning branding design was to familiarize people with Indonesian culture to connect with food over dinner banter. The texture was a crucial feature to experiment with embossing techniques, papers, and fabric. Plus, Studio Sly achieved a modern color palette representative of the Indonesian culture that gives Kata Kita an elegant appeal./u00a0
