Unikorns Agency is a creative digital agency working across brand identity, digital experiences, and visual communication. The OneGate approached the studio to create a new brand identity for a financial platform serving businesses and high-value private clients with complex needs across borders. Operating across Europe, North America, and Asia, the company needed a brand that could speak to an international audience while reflecting a service built around personal relationships rather than the distance of traditional banking.
The central challenge was one of balance. Finance carries strong expectations around security, stability, and professionalism, and for good reason. At the same time, The OneGate wanted to position itself as a modern, dynamic alternative — closer to its clients, more flexible, and able to provide a highly tailored experience. The task was not to reject the visual language of the category, but to understand which signals were essential to trust and where the brand could establish a character of its own.
The resulting visual identity builds on this tension between familiarity and distinction. Blue remains an important part of the brand, grounding it in the financial space, but the wider visual language takes it somewhere less conventional. A flexible system of angular gradients introduces light, movement, and a much broader spectrum of colour, allowing the identity to shift in mood and intensity while staying recognisable. Its geometry draws on the idea behind The OneGate itself: a single point of access opening onto a wider financial world.
The wordmark follows a similar principle. Its foundation is deliberately clear and restrained, with individual interventions in the letterforms giving the logo its own rhythm and recognisable details. A family of logo configurations extends the system from the full wordmark to more compact compositions and a reduced OG mark, letting the identity hold its presence across very different formats and scales.
Rather than relying on a large collection of fixed graphic assets, Unikorns designed the identity around a small number of elements with considerable range. The gradients can change composition and colour, creating different expressions for services, audiences, and communication needs without fragmenting the brand. Combined with typography, the logo system, and a restrained approach to layout, they give enough structure to make new applications immediately recognisable while leaving room for variation.
That flexibility mattered because The OneGate was preparing for a broader public presence — across website, social media, presentations, brochures, press, and professional events, and for both corporate clients and individuals used to highly personalised financial services. Unikorns approached the identity not as a set of finished assets but as a visual framework capable of producing new ones as the company evolves, preserving the clarity the category requires while using colour, movement, and typography to create distinction where it matters.
