Michael Wandelmaier, a product designer and Head of Design Strategy & Craft at MetaLab, uses this Vancouver-based portfolio to let his work do the talking. Against a deep near-black backdrop, a clean sans-serif spells out “everyday ideas” while soft pill-shaped buttons in pink, terracotta and green — each labelled in a contrasting serif — add warmth and a playful sense of interaction. Thumbnails of process work and prototypes begin to surface below the fold, promising a considered look at how his ideas take shape. The restrained palette and confident type pairing give the site a calm, premium feel, a lovely example of understated web design. The measured typography can be explored at wandelmaier.com.
