Dedication To Jigoro Kano

Ken Duncan Yoshida Mah pays heartfelt tribute to the founder of judo in this quietly beautiful editorial project. A crisp, light layout is split between a black-and-white archival video still of two judoka, complete with a play button, and a striking Japanese setting of ‘柔道’ (judo) in blue with ‘嘉納 治五郎’ (Jigoro Kano) in soft beige. Below, a refined serif ‘Jigoro Kano’ heading introduces an English biography under ‘About The Founder of Judo’, bridging Japanese and Latin typography with care. The generous white space and respectful pacing let the story and the lettering breathe. It is a graceful exercise in bilingual typography and editorial design, live at happybirthdayjigorokano.com.
