The studio crafted a visually captivating and cohesive system of animated shapes, outlines, and animation rules.The global technology leader, widely recognized for providing networking and communications solutions to enterprises, service providers, and government organizations, asked Illo to convey their key pillars of scale, growth, security, networking, and collaboration through a visually engaging motion-driven visual system.Illo combed a solid grid-based approach with fluid design elements.
The challenge was to strike the perfect balance between the two directions, ensuring a consistent motion language that would captivate viewers while effectively representing the complexity of the client’s services. By implementing a flexible and modular system of grid-based shapes and outlines, Illo created a visual language that offers versatility and adaptability across various mediums. To maintain consistency and cohesiveness, Illo established a set of design and animation rules and guidelines. These guidelines include the use of a limited color palette, animating shapes interchangeably to represent data, and incorporating outlines to enhance visual interest.
As a result, a unified visual language emerged, effectively communicating the multifaceted nature of the technology leader’s offerings.illo is a design studio with a focus on motion design, illustration and art direction. Led by the creative duo Ilenia Notarangelo and Luca Gonnelli, the studio aims for a minimal and colorful aesthetic – and clear storytelling. In recent years, they launched their sister studio algo.tv, focused on data visualization and video automation.
