Oat Studio have just completed the event branding and campaign for a new comedy festival called Laughterama.

With a line-up featuring some of the biggest names in stand up James Acaster, Dylan Moran, Aisling Bea, Josh Widdicombe and Phil Wang the headliners spoke for themselves, so it was important that the event visuals conveyed the lively and unique urban venue at Castlefield Bowl, which would also offer Manchester’s best street food and drink.

Oat Studio worked with illustrator James Daw to create a hero poster scene, with a surreal depiction of the five night long event, at the canalside open air venue, under its red brick arches. James fun-filled and offbeat character drawings suggest the diverse collection of personalities onstage. Oat designed a distorted logo representing the roars of laughter rising from the amused audience. The illustrations and logo were then applied across large-scale event graphics, projections, merchandise, website and social media campaigns.
