Social engineering is behind many of today's biggest security breaches, yet the human layer has largely remained unprotected. Humanix set out to change that with an AI-powered platform that detects and responds to manipulation in real time across voice, chat, and help desk channels.
The challenge extended beyond designing a brand. Humanix was defining an entirely new category, and Widelab's role was to help make that category feel both credible and inevitable.
Humanix approached Widelab with a strong product but limited clarity around its brand identity: who it was speaking to, why its mission mattered, and how it differed from the many other cybersecurity solutions on the market.
Widelab led a comprehensive Brand Discovery Workshop with the founding team, using its SB7 framework alongside the Golden Circle, audience mapping, competitive positioning, competitor analysis, and brand values. The process was designed to answer three fundamental questions: who is Humanix for, what makes it different, and what space can it truly own.
The workshops revealed the central strategic insight: for years, the cybersecurity industry had blamed people for breaches and responded by offering more training. Humanix represented a fundamentally different approach — it protected people instead of punishing them.
These insights became the foundation of the complete brand strategy, including positioning, brand voice, and core messaging. Each strategic decision subsequently shaped the visual identity and wider brand experience.
The result was a brand positioned beyond the traditional security awareness market. Instead of competing within an existing category, Humanix established its own: Human Threat Detection & Response. Shortly after the launch, Humanix was named a finalist at the RSA Conference — one of the cybersecurity industry's most competitive stages.
