Forge Automotive is a performance atelier that builds bespoke vehicles — reworking bodywork, interiors, wheels, lighting, exhaust and paint protection for clients who, in the studio's words, refuse ordinary. Designer and developer Joe Ben Taylor built the atelier's website as an exercise in interactive storytelling, using scroll-driven animation, cursor events and WebGL to give each build its own cinematic reveal.
The site runs on Next.js and GSAP with a Sanity CMS backend designed so that a sold build moves itself into a previous-builds archive with a single checkbox. Taylor worked with 12 Studio and Adam Roberts, pairing Editorial New and Geist across a near-black palette that keeps the focus on the cars.
