Kallan & Co designed the website for Okains Bay Seafood, a longline fishing company, with a strong sense of atmosphere. The hero is a full-screen photograph taken from the bow of the vessel Kawatea as it heads into a calm, misty sea, with a cluster of coral and pink buoys along the rail. The ship name is set in widely spaced white capitals across the image beneath a small Our Vessel label, while an elegant serif logo and a hand-drawn fishing hook icon sit at the top. Muted blues and greys give the page a quiet, honest mood, and a vertical Discover prompt invites visitors to scroll on. It is a beautiful example of how photography and restraint can carry a brand in web design.
