Contra Studio created the website for Bastarda, a design studio focused on the production of type and branding, and it has plenty of attitude. A slim white header holds the lowercase wordmark and a short monospaced statement, while the rest of the screen is taken over by a full-bleed photo of a tattoo artist at work in black gloves. Project names such as El Bourbon are layered over the image in a light monospaced typeface, with the rest of the list fading into the background like a ghostly index. A small black asterisk-like mark in the corner adds a final graphic touch. It is a raw and confident mix of type design and branding that suits the studio perfectly.
