illo partnered with Marex, a diversified global financial services platform, to create a motion language that mirrors the company’s balance between precision and fluidity. Operating across energy, commodities, and financial markets, Marex connects systems and people — and this sense of connection became the core of the project.
Starting from Marex’s brand identity, illo developed a creative direction that blends real footage with clean geometric shapes, grounding the narrative in reality while exploring abstraction through motion. The visual system revolves around the MX Link, a key brand element made of lines and dots representing Marex’s four main services. From this structure, illo built a modular environment that expands, connects, and flows — a metaphor for how Marex moves through markets with clarity and strength.
A flexible grid ties everything together, aligning footage, data-inspired elements, and branded forms into a seamless rhythm. Subtle layers of stylized data visualization reinforce the themes of analysis and movement, without relying on real data but through the suggestion of it.
The result is a cohesive motion system that feels analytical yet human, precise yet expressive — an aesthetic translation of Marex’s role in shaping the flow of global finance. For illo’s own showcase, Marex’s team allowed the studio to reinterpret the brand’s color palette, giving the visuals a unique tone exclusive to illo’s channels.
