Yeezy Boost Glitch Sculpture

Shane Griffin from Sunday Afternoon studio created an intricate sculptural art piece of a life size Yeezy Boost 350, which was exhibited at the Sunday Afternoon showcase in New York.

Griffin started the sculpture process by 3d scanning a real Yeezy Boost 350 by a process of photogrammetry. The artist then digitaly distorted the model, twisting and then displacing the middle section of sneaker. Griffin commented, 'balancing the weight distribution of the sculpture was a tricky process which involved rigid body simulations and some guess-work'. The sculpture was finally 3D printed to a life size scale in a resin material.
