Frontify Branded Motion toolkit

Motion-first creative studio Buff has partnered with Frontify, the leading brand management platform, to develop a comprehensive branded motion toolkit that empowers teams to create consistent, on-brand animations with speed, clarity, and creative flexibility.

As Frontify prepared to unveil its updated product positioning, the brand-building platform faced a familiar challenge: how to produce high-quality product videos quickly, without sacrificing design integrity or brand clarity. The solution? A modular system.

Frontify’s marketing and design teams needed a scalable way to respond to video content requests, from sales to product marketing to customer success, without reinventing the wheel each time. In collaboration with Buff, they set out to build a motion-first toolkit that could do just that: support internal creators, safeguard brand consistency, and flex across a wide range of use cases.

Buff began by working closely with Frontify’s team to explore creative directions and stress-test how the system would need to perform across real-world scenarios. The early phase focused on aligning on outcomes: defining clear performance goals while exploring visually bold but technically achievable solutions that reflect the Frontify brand with clarity and polish.

From typography to transitions, the toolkit defines how the Frontify brand moves. Built in After Effects with in-house usability at its core, it includes:

* Text and type systems that ensure legibility, pacing, and tone

* Structured layouts tailored to platform features like DAM, templates, and editor views

* 2D and 3D idents that frame content and visualise real-world brand applications

* Product flows with just enough detail to educate without overwhelming

The result is a system that doesn’t just look like Frontify, it behaves like it too.

Importantly, this wasn’t a static handover. Buff collaborated iteratively with Frontify’s brand and creative studio teams to ensure the toolkit was both future-proof and frictionless. Every asset and structure was designed to evolve, giving designers, freelancers, and content teams the ability to produce high-quality video content without compromising consistency or speed.

Since its launch, the toolkit has enabled teams to work faster while staying fully aligned with the brand. Its already been used to create product videos for Frontifys website and social channels, prompting a wave of enthusiasm across internal teams.

The growing demand signals a system thats doing its job of enabling scalable content creation without the cost of bespoke production for every request.
