Project Modified Journal

Once again we bring to you a project that involves Yeseul Kim & Edo Kim. Two designers: a graphic and an industrial designer. Project Modified Journal encourages to up-cycle the wasted smartphones by revitalizing “do make and mend spirit”. It aims to provide a solution at the level of ordinary users, not from organizations or companies’ perspectives.

Users can follow a step-by-step instruction provided within this project to create the complete LED light y themselves. By doing so, they getting involved in the use of electronic waste at the individual level. The project goal is to create a touchpoint that can solve e-waste problems at the personal level by encouraging such participation.
This project mainly features a technical and industrial side. So, the graphic and editorial look had to be adapted to that imprint. Inspired by the minimal, black and white aesthetic of technical drawings and ISO standards, pun intended for our industrial readers 😉 but with a bolder type giving a more modern style but keeping it formal and readable to all. Here’s our invitation to scroll down and check this journal
