What’s the main thing people should know about you? Give us a short intro...

I'm JP, a designer from Brazil. Former Webflow Brand Designer. Nice guy with a strong passion for design and tech.
I'm proud to reflect on my journey that began in the early days of the internet in 2002. My love for design and technology led me to start creating websites using Flash, which paved the way for me to explore the world of digital design. Over the years, I had the privilege of working with some of the top digital agencies in the world, gaining valuable experience and honing my skills.

In my pursuit of excellence, I eventually moved to California to join Webflow as a brand designer. During my time at Webflow, I quickly established myself as a top-ranked expert and contributed to the redesign of several key features, such as the Designer, CMS, Editor, and Interactions pages. I worked diligently to provide Webflow's users with a seamless and intuitive experience, making it easier for them to create professional-looking websites.

After a few years, I decided to take my passion for Webflow to the next level by becoming a full-time Webflow designer and developer. I'm now able to serve clients globally and provide them with my expertise and experience, helping them achieve their design goals. Additionally, I have been able to generate substantial income through my Webflow templates, earning over 350k in sales in just one year.

Aside from my professional pursuits, I am also passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I take great pride in teaching young designers how to be successful freelancers using Webflow, providing them with the tools and resources they need to skyrocket their careers.

Besides of professional approach, I'm passionate about soccer, cooking, traveling and spending quality time with my wife and kids

Could you describe how where your love for webflow comes from? Why is this your favorite tool?

My journey with Webflow began in 2013 when I was introduced to the platform while it was still in its beta phase. At the time, I was frustrated with the traditional design process, where I would hand over my designs to developers and often be disappointed with the final product. That was when I discovered the power of Webflow and its ability to allow me to design and develop simultaneously, giving me complete control over the final outcome.

From that moment on, my relationship with Webflow was cemented, and I have been using the platform nearly every day for the past decade. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to serve a wide range of clients, create a variety of personal projects, sell templates, and help companies to reshape their online presence. The flexibility and versatility of Webflow have allowed me to bring my designs to life in ways I never thought possible, and I am proud of the impact I have been able to make through my work.

Looking back on my journey with Webflow, I can say with certainty that it has been life-changing. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to use this incredible tool to make a positive impact on the world of digital design, and I look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in the years to come.

Meet Molly the Webflow template https://mollie-template.webflow.io/

Tell us your story of how you started out and how you grew your team.

Starting a team is one of the most exciting journeys I've ever been on! I never thought I'd be an agency owner or managing a large team, but as a designer, I always had a passion for entrepreneurship, creating impactful products, and taking a more hands-on approach to business. I found that the traditional design community wasn't always aligned with these goals, but that never stopped me from pursuing my dreams.

It all started with a conversation I had with Sarah, who I was mentoring at the time. During that call, she shared her career aspirations, and I knew right away that she would be the perfect partner for me. I immediately made her a proposal to join me on this journey, and she wholeheartedly agreed.

Next, I was on the hunt for a Webflow developer, and after testing several candidates, I stumbled upon an old friend, Allan, who was the perfect fit for our team. With Sarah and Allan on board, we hit the ground running and started providing Webflow development services to several clients from the Sillicon Valley. Our success in these projects gave us the confidence to take the next step, and we decided to launch one of our Webflow initiatives - Fixflow.

Starting a team can be a rollercoaster of emotions, but with the right people, it's one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have. Our team dynamic is amazing, and we all bring unique skills to the table. I'm so grateful to have found such talented and motivated individuals to join me on this journey.

The third member of the team: Allan C.

Since you recently launched Fixflow which blew our mind, give us a quick intro what it is and how it works…

As a former brand designer at Webflow, I had the opportunity to study the market and gain a deep understanding of the challenges faced by both template buyers and designers. This experience inspired me to venture into the template marketplace, where I leveraged my insights to create a different approach that resulted in significant success. I broke sales, engagement, sharing, and recognition records and received numerous requests for minor fixing and editing services from clients who purchased one of my templates.

Recognizing the need for affordable and high-quality Webflow projects, I founded Fixflow to bridge the gap between the ideal template and technical obstacles faced by budget-conscious buyers.

Fixflow is dedicated to delivering efficiency, creativity, and productivity to the Webflow market through expertly handling technical details at a fraction of the cost. With Fixflow, buyers can focus on selecting the template that best meets their needs, confident that the hard work will be done with precision and care.

With my background as a brand designer and market knowledge,  my team and I are confident in our skills to deliver high-class services for the webflow market.

How long did it take you to launch Fixflow? How many team members were involved...

I have devoted significant time to studying the market and identifying growth opportunities. Through this research, I discovered a need in the template marketplace and founded Fixflow as a complementary initiative to our existing Webflow services. Our primary focus remains to provide exceptional design projects and bring fresh and creative visuals to the market for clients worldwide.

Right after launching the first version of Fixflow, which took around 6 days of development from the initial idea to the current website,  we have already received an impressive level of interest, with bookings and projects extending into July. The team behind Fixflow consists of experienced professionals, including myself as lead designer, Sarah B. as the customer success manager, and Allan R. as our talented front-end developer. However, we are always looking for new talent to join our dynamic team, and I am currently seeking to hire at least two or three designers focusing on art direction, branding, and Webflow, as usual.

For anyone starting out and interested in Webflow, what would you recommend to focus on?

For anyone starting in Webflow, I would highly recommend focusing on the following areas to develop a strong foundation:

01. Understanding the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: These are the fundamental building blocks of web design and are essential to effectively using Webflow.
02. Familiarizing yourself with the Webflow interface: Get comfortable with the tools, panels, and features available within Webflow to maximize your productivity.
03. Studying design principles and best practices: Pay attention to design principles such as layout, typography, color, and balance to create visually appealing designs.
04. Experimenting with different templates and layouts: Try out different templates and layouts to get a feel for what works best for different types of projects.
05. Building a portfolio: Create projects and add them to your portfolio to showcase your skills and attract potential clients or employers.
06. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements: The web design industry is constantly evolving, so it's important to stay informed and adapt to new trends and technologies.

In summary, by focusing on these key areas, you will be well on your way to becoming a skilled and knowledgeable Webflow designer.

Is there any particular webflow project you worked on that you are excited or proud of and why? What’s the story behind?

Yes, I am very proud of my work on the main feature pages of Webflow, particularly the Designer, CMS, Editor, and Interaction pages. The development process of these pages was a significant moment in my career, as they were the last projects I worked on at Webflow before I left to return to my home country and start my freelancing journey.

The experience I gained from working on these projects was invaluable. I learned the importance of focusing on content, branding, performance, and business goals; these lessons have impacted my approach to design. The insights I gained from working on these pages helped me to develop a deep understanding of what it takes to create effective and impactful strategies, and I carry these lessons with me to this day.

The story behind these projects is a very emotional one for me, as they represent a turning point in my career and the beginning of my journey as a freelancer designer and digital entrepreneur — and facing a pandemic and uncertain times in the middle of the way, including the born of my first child and a few months later, my wife got surprisingly pregnant again — that was definitely the most challenging time of my life. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to celebrate the launching of these pages since I got a lot of downturns afterward.  So I carry these wounds as a trophy, by the way.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to work on these projects and the lessons I learned. I'm even more excited to continue building upon this foundation as I continue my journey in the world of web design.

Beside your amazing webflow templates and Fixflow, is there anything else you focus on (offer)?

My main focus at this moment is on my health and family needs. Running businesses and taking care of young kids is rewarding by exhausting. For this reason, I working smarter, not harder. This means I'm dedicating much effort to working less but better. We have plans to return to the US soon and continue to grow our business by providing a unique approach to the Webflow market. I'm very proud of my team and our achievements, and I am always looking for new ways to improve and grow our business.

Shortly, we are planning to launch version 2 of Fixflow, a more robust platform that will provide clients with everything they need to take their webflow projects to new heights.  I am excited about this next step in our journey, and I look forward to seeing the impact this new and improved platform will have on our clients and their webflow projects.
