How much of a popcorn muncher are you? Because here at Mindsparkle Mag, we are huge fans of the big screen. Edinburgh International Film Festival is the oldest continually running film festival since 1947. Every June, EIFF presents films from the United Kingdom and worldwide. Back in 2019’s edition, Touch Agency was delighted to have been appointed to create the enlightening new identity and campaign for the festival.
As film enthusiasts, creatives came up with a bold and vibrant visual identity and creative campaign. Its striking aesthetic received inspiration from the movie theatre’s light beams and projection on a widescreen. So, the team designed a geometric background pattern that appears all over the campaign.
For the color palette, Touch Agency defined a patriotic combination even with similar proportions! Edinburgh International Film Festival has a sub-brand for EIFF Youth, for which the agency worked in collaboration with young people to develop and create a radiant style. All this came to life in the city as posters, signage, t-shirts, catalogs, and totes. The strident campaign for the 73rd EIFF edition gathered around 70,000 goers.
All in all, we love the fun and dynamic approach Touch Agency delivered for such an important, well-known festival. Plus, we’re excited to know about the collaboration with younger creatives to design a stunning visual identity.
